This study investigates the fretting wear characteristics of steam generator(SG) heat transfer tubes due to the fluid induced vibration(FIV) and maintenance equipment and methods of U-tubes with defect for fretting-wear damages caused by support structure in operating power plants. To get the key mechanical factor for the wear of U-tubes, mechanical modeling of heat transfer tubes subjected to FIV is performed by means of fluid-solid coupling method. The fluid-solid interactions are simplified through the empirical parameters from practical engineering experience and special emphases are the mechanical characterization of U-tubes with damage, which are expressed in terms of the natural frequency, corresponding mode shape and damping ratio. Also, steam generator heat transfer tube stabilizers(HTTS) based on shape memory alloys are designed to relieve heat transfer tube fretting wear and prevent tube breakage, which could protect the peripheral tubes and extends the remaining life of SG. In addition, the performances of the stabilizer are compared with that of a common basis the virgin tube through mechanical dynamic performance test to evaluate the action effect and function.

摘要
