This paper discusses the cost-effective in-house development of a full-range vacuum gauge. The developed gauge is targeted for versatility across low to high vacuum ranges. Due to different pressure measurement physics at different vacuum levels, a single gauge working on one principle is not sufficient enough for different vacuum levels. The design of this gauge combining both the principles of the Pirani and Penning gauge, utilizes their best working conditions to provide a full range vacuum reading. Performance tests conducted in controlled laboratory conditions establish the gauge’s ability to deliver vacuum readings across the vacuum spectrum. The approach for developing this gauge ensures cost-effectiveness and adaptability to evolving applications by providing an indigenous and reliable solution for the industrial requirements of a developing nation. This work contributes to an attempt to advance the in-house vacuum instrumentation capabilities, addressing the growing demand for high-performance vacuum measurement tools in Indian scientific and industrial sectors.

摘要
