The impact of soil amplification on seismic passive earth pressure was studied. A generalized expression of seismic passive earth pressure coefficient of non-vertical retaining wall with inclined soil backfill is computed along with consideration of the effect of soil amplification by pseudo-dynamic analysis. The failure surface is considered as planar surface. A parametric study of soil amplification effect on seismic passive earth pressure coefficient has been done. The model parameters used in this study are soil friction angle, wall friction angle, wall inclination, soil backfill inclination. The ratio of seismic passive earth pressure and static passive earth pressure is observed to study impact of varying degree of soil amplification. The expression for seismic passive earth pressure coefficient was consistent with previous studies. The results were shown in the form of graph and tables. Comparison has been done with results obtained in this study to the previous studies.

摘要
