This study aims to determine whether recycled aggregate could be used as a structural material. The material’s performance is examined by altering the recycled aggregate’s percentage content in concrete. The objective is to use as much recycled aggregate as possible in concrete without sacrificing the material’s structural integrity. Four varieties of recycled aggregate concrete—100, 75, 50, 25, and 0%—are made using varying replacement percentages of recycled aggregate. Comparing concrete samples with recycled aggregate to those without, it was observed that recycled aggregate concrete samples performed poorer than the concrete samples made of natural aggregates. However, the results showed that concrete samples containing 50% recycled aggregate yielded the highest efficiency among the other samples and hence, the authors have recommended a replacement level of natural aggregates by recycled aggregates by upto 50%.

摘要
