A compact tri-band printed monopole antenna with U shaped design is proposed in this article. The proposed antenna is quite useful at 3.3 GHz (WiMAX), 5 GHz (5G communication) and 7.5 GHz (C-band communication) applications. The multiband frequency curve is a result of a reverse “c” shaped slot made towards the extreme right of the substrate. The antenna has a non-truncated ground with uniform rectangular shape. The antenna is designed on FR4 epoxy substrate with an overall dimension of 17 × 17 × 1.6 mm3. The monopole antenna proposed has an overall compact size and impedance bandwidth of 86.95%, 60.60% and 18.66% for 3.3 GHz (WiMAX), 5 GHz (5G communication) and 7.5 GHz (C-band communication) respectively.
