A low profile dual band flag shaped monopole antenna is designed in this article. This antenna is designed at frequency range (2.4–2.8 GHz) and (7.9–8.7 GHz) with the application of Wireless local area network (WLAN) and XBand application such as satellite communication respectively. The antenna that is being displayed is quite small i.e. 25 × 20 × 1.6 mm3. The two bands of the antenna have a return loss of 33 dB on left band and 27 dB on right band respectively. The radiation pattern of proposed antenna have omnidirectional behaviour. The impedance bandwidth of designed antenna are 15.38 and 9.63%.
