Tech War of the Great Powers
摘要
Other than trade and investment, technology is a flash point in the great powers competition and lies in the heart of the China-US hostility. Both countries are locked in neck-and-neck competition to be the leader in future technology. Both are competing for high-tech markets, trying to establish its sphere of influence within the global high-tech landscape. The US is pursuing a decoupling from China to restrict its access to Western advanced technologies. China is pursuing self-sufficiency in technology development through import substitution under its “dual circulation” strategy, emphasising on the need for independent innovation in information technology.
