The term “health services research” (HSR) may be unfamiliar to many, and the word “research” can often seem intimidating. However, HSR is a study to review and improve the quality of services provided by healthcare professionals and their organizations, to ensure that the services are properly delivered to those who need them (“access” and “quality of service” are the key points). Therefore, issues that doctors at the forefront of clinical practice experience daily can be valuable research topics.
