With advances of techniques and instruments used in procedure, various nonvascular interventional procedures have been attempted in the diseases of the female pelvic cavity. Nonvascular gynecologic interventions included biopsies, aspiration, percutaneous catheter drainage (PCD), focused ultrasound therapy for uterine fibroids, sclerotherapy, selective salpingography, and recanalization. Nonvascular interventional procedures of the female pelvis are performed through various routes: transabdominal, transvaginal, transperineal, transrectal, and transgluteal approaches.
