Epithelial tumors are the most common histopathologic type of ovarian tumors. They are primarily cystic, and, if malignant, are associated with solid components. Papillary projections are a distinctive feature of epithelial tumors. Profuse papillary projections are highly suggestive of borderline malignant or malignant epithelial tumors. In this chapter, we review and discuss ultrasonographic (US), computed tomographic (CT), and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging features of the spectrum of epithelial ovarian tumors, classified into the following categories; serous, mucinous, endometrioid, clear cell, seromucinous, Brenner, and undifferentiated tumors. From this, we can indicate a specific diagnosis or allow substantial narrowing of the differential diagnosis.

摘要
