Benign Renal Tumors
摘要
Various kinds of benign tumors with different origins arise in the kidney. Benign renal parenchymal tumor includes renal cell tumors such as oncocytoma and papillary adenoma, metanephric tumors, mesenchymal tumors including Angiomyolipoma, juxtaglomerular cell tumor and renomedullary interstitial tumor, nephroblastic tumors, and mixed epithelial and mesenchymal tumors. The majority of these tumors are detected incidentally by imaging. Although the differential diagnosis of these benign tumors and renal cell carcinoma is often difficult due to the overlap of imaging findings, understanding of some characteristic findings of certain tumor is very helpful to avoid the unnecessary surgery. In uncertain cases, image-guided renal mass biopsy can solve the question.
