Optimization and Performance Analysis of Solar Wind Hybrid Power Systems Using HOMER Software
摘要
Renewable energy sources are expected to make up an important part of the energy market due to the possibility of their integration into conventional fossil fuel power plants. Using fossil fuels has several drawbacks, such as environmental damage, rapid resource depletion, and global warming. The shortage of fossil fuels is becoming more widely recognized. This research work contributes to the collection of knowledge on standalone solar and wind hybrid systems which highlight the need for optimal design and scaling that takes into account several techno-economic parameters, such as net present cost, energy cost, PV power generation, and PV array tracking systems. Using HOMER (Hybrid Optimization of Multiple Energy Resources) software, the energy system is modeled to examine the technical and economic performance. The energy, load patterns, and seasonal fluctuations in Leh are thoroughly analyzed at the beginning of the research. In terms of energy output and system efficiency, this research offers helpful information for decision-making regarding the arrangement of renewable energy solutions in this and other similar locations. The proposed model uses solar radiation, load profile, energy cost for Leh Ladakh, and other real data that the model demands.
