Addressing Bottom of Pyramid Through Blockchain as a Service Application
摘要
The Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) represents the largest but poorest socio-economic group, often lacking access to basic services and economic opportunities. Blockchain technology, with its decentralized and transparent nature, presents a promising solution to address the unique challenges faced by this demographic. This paper explores the potential applications of blockchain to enhance financial inclusion, supply chain transparency, and access to essential services for BoP communities. By leveraging blockchain’s capabilities, we can facilitate secure and cost-effective financial transactions, thus integrating the unbanked population into the formal economy. Additionally, blockchain can improve supply chain efficiency and traceability, ensuring that essential goods reach their intended recipients without corruption or mismanagement. The paper also examines case studies where blockchain has been successfully implemented in BoP contexts, highlighting the transformative impact on local economies and social structures. Furthermore, the discussion extends to the challenges and limitations of deploying blockchain in low-resource settings, including technological literacy and infrastructure constraints. Through comprehensive analysis and empirical evidence, this study underscores the potential of blockchain technology to drive sustainable development and economic empowerment for the Bottom of the Pyramid, fostering a more inclusive and equitable global economy.
