Wellbeing transcends individualistic views, emerging as a collective phenomenon rooted in social interdependence, cultural narratives, and communal values. This perspective emphasises that flourishing is not solely a personal endeavour but is deeply connected to the health and harmony of the community. In times of adversity, qualities like optimism, hope, and resilience are not just personal traits but are nurtured through shared experiences and cultural frameworks. Embracing wellbeing as a collective and relational construct calls for inclusive approaches that value interconnectedness, reciprocity, and shared emotional experiences. By recognising our interwoven existence, we not only enhance personal happiness but also contribute to the flourishing of our communities. This paper draws from the Indian tradition that displays collectivist culture, where social harmony and interconnectedness are emphasised and happiness is often derived from group cohesion and shared experiences. Conversely, individualistic cultures prioritise autonomy and personal achievement as pathways to wellbeing. We affirm that well-being is shaped by social interactions, thus contributing to collective flourishing. Such variation is now being promoted in the Western world as the transforming potential of community, cultural cohesiveness, and mutual upliftment in increasing holistic happiness and long-term wellbeing, which is inherent in the Indian tradition, is recognised and cherished. The paper proposes that individual awakening acts as a catalyst for community elevation, with personal uniqueness serving as the foundation for collective fulfilment. And that self-aware and purposeful people make society more engaged, aligned, and forward-thinking, thus contributing to collective flourishing.

摘要
