An attempt has been made to have an insight over the evolution and impact of omics technologies in agricultural research and crop improvement from 2000 to 2025. Through bibliometric analysis of 16,773 publications, the study reveals significant trends in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics research within agriculture. The analysis highlights key contributions from leading nations, institutions, and researchers, with China, the United States, and India emerging as major research hubs. The findings demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of agricultural omics research, with particular emphasis on stress tolerance, yield improvement, and nutritional enhancement. The study documents the transition from traditional gene-by-gene analysis to large-scale, data-driven approaches, supported by advanced computational methods and bioinformatics. The bibliometric analysis reveals collaborative networks and identifies emerging research hotspots. The chapter provide valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, and funding agencies in directing future research efforts and resource allocation.

摘要
