This chapter explores the emotional responses—such as frustration, solidarity, and hope—embedded in tweets from a youth-led environmental movement’s organization. Through case studies from the X (previously Twitter) account of the youth-led environmental organization Backsilmove, this study proposes to identify the cause and understand the meaning of grievance, demonstrated in selected tweets from the X handle of the organization. The chapter has been triangulated with in-depth interviews narrating the Backsilmove activists’ spatial experiences and has explored the “shared emotions” theoretical perspectives. Backsilmove demonstrated the effectiveness of its cyber-power by using X to publicize its radical act of rescuing the Babakan Siliwangi urban forest and the capabilities of the activists to express their dissent as government plans to commercialize the forest unraveled.

摘要
