If bullying is bad, cyber bullying is worse because the perpetrators are anonymous. Victims of cyber bullying are clueless about the identity of the perpetrators and hence feel helpless. When the perpetrators are known, there are ways to deal with them. But when they operate behind the screen, it is tough to know and deal with them. Cyber bullying causes huge stress on the victims. The reputation of a person can be ruined in a matter of minutes by posting false and misleading information on an online platform. There are agencies of the state that can help the victims find the perpetrators and punish them for their wrongful acts. But many victims are not aware of these citizen support systems. This study finds out the prevalence of cyber bullying among youngsters in the age group of 16–27 and their coping mechanisms.
