The paper aims to provide an illustration of the DC-DC buck converter and boost converter design, analysis, and simulation. Since a functional prototype of DC buck converter and DC boost converter is being constructed, simulation and comparative analysis have been carried out. In Buck converter voltage received at output is less than the source voltage and it is variable, so it can be used in various power applications requiring variation of dc voltage. Boost converter has output voltage greater than the source voltage and it can also be varied at the output according to the requirement. A simulation model in Proteus 8 software of both buck and boost converters is drawn to compare the hardware output and simulation output.
