According to the type of raw materials, the current production of hydrogen mainly has the following common technical routes: one is the hydrogen production technology with traditional fossil energy as raw materials, such as oil, coal, and natural gas; the second is the technology to purify hydrogen from industrial by-product hydrogen, such as propane dehydrogenation, coke oven gas, and chlor-alkali tail gas; the third is the water electrolysis hydrogen production technology with desalinated water as raw material, its electricity can come from photovoltaic power generation, wind power, hydropower and other renewable energy as well as grid power; in addition, there are chemical raw material hydrogen production (such as alcohol and ammonia cracking hydrogen production) and new types of hydrogen production technologies such as biomass hydrogen production and photochemical water splitting.
