Epilogue: Lessons Learned and the Path Forward for Ecosystem-Based Resilience in the Himalayan Landscapes
摘要
This epilogue synthesizes the key insights from this volume and highlights the integration of social, ecological, technological, and policy perspectives to enhance resilience in the fragile Himalayan region. Overall, the chapters of this volume together emphasise the importance of ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) Approach, traditional knowledge and community-driven initiatives in addressing the growing impacts of climate change. Key themes include climate-induced ecosystem shifts, indigenous adaptation practices, and governance challenges in disaster risk reduction. The discussions highlight strengthening scientific–traditional knowledge linkages, scaling up EbA strategies, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and promoting trans-boundary co-operation. As we advance, holistic, inclusive, and innovation-driven approaches are key to protecting the Himalayan landscapes – ensuring ecological stability, cultural continuity, and long-term socio-economic resilience for future generations.
