Introduction
摘要
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, are aircraft operated without a pilot, using radio remote control devices and autonomous flight control systems. They are widely used in various fields, including military and civilian applications. Fixed-wing UAVs, known for their long endurance and high cruising speeds, have become one of the most popular UAVs being developed worldwide. This chapter introduces the basic concepts of fixed-wing UAVs and discusses their principles of flight. This chapter’s exploration of fixed-wing UAVs provides readers with foundational knowledge of micro-small fixed-wing UAVs, laying the groundwork for subsequent chapters and introducing them to the full development and application process of such UAVs.
