Investigation on Geopolymer Concrete Incorporating Flyash, GGBS and also Effect of Egg as Sustainable Bio Admixture

Consuming Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) effects environment because of release of CO2. Therefore, an alternative has to be introduced to avoid OPC. Geopolymer cement has been developed which might be an compound of inorganic particles. Flyash (FA), an by-product from coal industries is available around the world. FA contains silica and alumina which responds with alumina silicate gel that act as coupling material. Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) is another similar material which could replace cement. In the present research egg has been utilized as a natural admixture with 1%, 2%, 3% in Geopolymer Concrete (GPC). From the study it was observed that the strength in terms of compression and split tensile increased with increase of egg %. Flyash in geopolymer also provides better resistivity for aggressive environments and high temperatures compared to normal concrete. This work tends to mention constituents of GPC, its quality and behavior with natural admixture. In many studies egg shell powder has been investigated, therefore, in the present study egg albumen as an admixture has been investigated to identify its effect and it gave desirable results.
