Internet of Things (IoT) applications have been widely used and allow for a more convenient, energy-efficient, and healthier lifestyle than before. However, implementing IoT applications and ideas remains a significant challenge. A crucial challenge is to improve the user interface and experience of IoT platforms. This improvement involves collecting and analyzing user data to make the IoT system more convenient. For a dormitory washing machine management system, we designed a prototype using an IoT interface from a user-centered perspective. The proposed design was created based on simulations, testing, and user feedback to enhance IoT platforms’ usability and user experience. The design also provides the basis for suggestions and design solutions.
