MHD Equations and Basic Characteristics of Magnetic Fields

In Chap. 12 the equations describing gaseous motions in subject to magnetic fields were derived from the Boltzmann equation. To fully describe such gaseous motions, however, the feedback of the gaseous motions to electromagnetic fields should be considered. In other words, interactions between gaseous motions and electromagnetic fields need to be considered. In this chapter we describe such set of equations under the MHD approximations, and summarized some fundamental characteristics of magnetized fluids under the MHD approximations.
