Mobile Communication Channel Modelling

In the case of mobile communication, the channel that we consider for the purpose of transmission is wireless in nature because when the signal is broadcast there is no direct connection set up between the transmitter and receiver. The signal’s properties change as the signal gets influenced by numerous propagation effects. Hence a direct line of sight between the transmitter and receiver may not always be achievable. The fluctuations in channel strength across time and frequency are distinguishing characteristics of the mobile wireless channel. The algorithms and techniques used for channel modelling are covered in this chapter. The chapter discusses the statistical analysis of 5G/6G millimeter wave channels, multiuser OFDMA networks, estimating the frequency of signals with white Gaussian noise and narrowband interference, joint map detection for OFDM, time domain channel estimation for MIMO-FBMC/OQAM systems, wireless channel estimation and beamforming, G2A communication channel modelling. Additionally, it includes analysis of ultra-wideband channels, studying dynamic channel characteristics, measuring, and modelling Wi-MAX channels, vehicular channels, and their implications on communication systems design, and utilizing machine learning for wireless communication channel modelling.
