This study focuses on the innovative potential of generative models in traditional furniture cultural heritage design, emphasizing the integration of profound cultural connotations into modern design practices with the support of advanced intelligent technology. The study uses CiteSpace scientometric analysis and content analysis methods to sort out relevant literature from the Web of Science and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases from 2000 to 2024, identify key literature, core research teams and important research topics, and dynamically present the application trend of generative models in the field of furniture design through keyword highlighting analysis and hot spot evolution path tracking. The results show that generative models play an important role in promoting the transformation of traditional furniture cultural heritage design from conservative inheritance to modern innovation. International research focuses on applying intelligent means such as diffusion models, multimodal generation technology and augmented reality, while local Chinese research pays more attention to the digital expression and innovative inheritance of traditional cultural symbols. The complementarity of the two points out the direction for the future: integrating the most cutting-edge technology with profound cultural connotations to achieve a deep integration of traditional furniture cultural heritage at the level of cultural protection and design innovation. Research should further optimize algorithm performance, expand high-quality dedicated data sets, develop multimodal intelligent collaborative design tools, and strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation. The above efforts will help inject new impetus into traditional furniture design through generative models based on inheriting cultural heritage and promoting its coordinated development in protection and innovation.
