Symbiotic Relationships: The Role of Mycorrhizae in Optimizing Flower Crop Productivity
摘要
Mycorrhizal fungi, crucial components of soil ecosystems, form symbiotic relationships with plant roots and significantly enhance plant growth and resilience. This chapter explores the effects of mycorrhizal associations on flower crops, focusing on nutrient uptake, soil health, and plant stress tolerance. Mycorrhizal fungi improve the absorption of essential nutrients such as phosphorus, nitrogen, and trace elements, promoting more vigorous flowering and increased yield in ornamental species. Additionally, these symbionts enhance plant resistance to drought, pathogens, and salinity, which are critical factors for the sustainability of flower production. Mycorrhizal associations offer an environmentally friendly approach to floriculture by reducing the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This review synthesizes recent research on the mechanisms through which mycorrhizae influence flower crops and discusses potential applications for improving crop productivity and sustainability in horticulture.
