Approaches to Use of Hybrid Powertrain on Electrified Vehicles of Category L

The purpose of the study is to analyze the world experience in the development of motorcycles with a combined power plant, to develop a mathematical model and to show the prospects for using a combined power plant on two-wheeled vehicles – motorcycles – in terms of reducing specific fuel consumption while maintaining dynamic characteristics. Methodology and methods. The validity and reliability of the presented results, conclusions and recommendations are confirmed by the use of a strict mathematical apparatus of mechanics and thermodynamics, scientifically substantiated theoretical premises in the development and implementation of the mathematical model. Results and scientific novelty. The article presents scientifically substantiated conclusions on the feasibility and prospects of using an electric drive in combination with a traditional internal combustion engine on motorcycles. Practical significance. The article shows how a rational choice of the design scheme of the power unit allows for a positive economic and environmental effect in terms of the volume of fossil fuel burned annually.
