Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption related thereto (energy efficiency) for conventional vehicles is part of the global problem to reduce the human impact on climate change and save natural resources. Relevance of electric vehicles is rapidly increasing as one of the most expensive elements of an electric vehicle, the traction battery, becomes cheaper. Global widespread implementation of electric vehicles is slowed down by limited one-charge cruising range and by the time required to replenish the energy in the traction battery. This scientific paper analyzes the world best practices of different approaches to increase the cruising range of electric vehicles. It also demonstrates scientific developments being carried out in the Russian Federation in terms of electric vehicle mileage extension systems, both traditional with a gasoline Range Extender and alternative (solar) and hydrogen energy. The paper presents the results of mathematical modeling and vehicle field tests results.

摘要
