G.729A Runtime Optimization Techniques and Implementation on FPGA SoC Platform
摘要
In this work, we propose several techniques to reduce G.729A codec runtime by focusing on function call overhead reduction, optimized memory operations, and streamlined calculations. Evaluations on various standard (Windows, Ubuntu) and embedded (Raspberry Pi 4, Zynq-7000 FPGA SoC) platforms demonstrate consistent performance improvements, confirming the flexibility of our optimizations. Furthermore, real-time implementation on Zynq-7000 FPGA SoC shows runtime reductions of 33% for encoding and 33.9% for decoding, while not degrading audio quality. These results highlight the efficiency and adaptability of our optimized codec for real-time digital audio communication.
