Impact of Gamification on Student Engagement and Retention: An Experimental Study on Indian School-Going Students
摘要
The study aims to explore how integrating gamified elements like game-based activities and reward systems can improve student motivation and knowledge retention. The research involved 145 Indian school students from Chennai and Salem, Tamil Nadu, who were given a questionnaire with two sections to assess the effects of gamified teaching on retention and engagement. Subsequently, ANOVA was employed to examine the relationship between gamified teaching and retention or engagement scores. Results indicated a significant impact of gamified methods on retention scores, while engagement scores were not statistically significant, suggesting the need for a longitudinal study to gauge gamified teaching’s effect on engagement over time.
