Cities and their public spaces are the earliest places where people congregate and gather to exchange their various commercial trades, social, and other activities. The aim of this chapter is to examine the potential of urban agriculture as a sustainable and resilient solution to the challenges faced by public spaces in rapidly urbanizing cities. Specifically, this study seeks to investigate how integrating urban agriculture into public spaces can enhance the resilience of cities in the context of rapid urbanization, global climate change, and political instability. This chapter adopts a reviewing methodology to explore the design of resilient urban spaces through urban agriculture practices. The approach begins with a thorough literature review, which aims to identify the key Resilience City Dimensions (RCDs) outlined in the Rockefeller Foundation’s City Resilience Index. This review helps establish the foundational framework for understanding the various factors contributing to urban resilience, including social, economic, environmental, and governance aspects. By combining theoretical frameworks, urban agriculture examples, and practical applications. In conclusion, this chapter offers valuable insights into how urban agriculture can serve as a tool for creating more resilient, sustainable, and adaptive urban environments, urban agriculture has the potential to transform public spaces into vital components of a city’s environmental and social fabric. However, successful implementation requires collaboration between government authorities, urban planners, and local communities, as well as the development of policies that support the integration of agriculture into the urban landscape.
