The introduction of AI technology into the field of learning means the introduction into a series of processes, such as learning a person’s state, analyzing it, and feeding back the results. Here, the technology to measure and analyze the state of the learner is called “sensing,” and the technology that helps to improve the learner’s performance through feedback is called “actuation.” In this chapter, we give an overview of these technologies and their prospects for the future, focusing on examples of research that the authors have conducted so far.
