Green photocatalytic energy conversion is attracting increasing attention from researchers, owing to its potential to solve the global energy crisis and environmental problems caused by the overconsumption of fossil fuels. A solar-based green photocatalytic energy conversion system is efficient and satisfactory for removing pollutants by decomposition. The manufacture of green and sustainable materials in the field of energy and environmental sectors has received global demand in the form of reuse or reprocessing in a biocompatible manner. Photocatalysis is a green technology that demonstrates artificial photosynthesis in which eco-friendly solar energy is converted and stored into high-energy chemicals. Green photocatalytic energy conversion technologies are low-cost, robust, biocompatible, and can tackle high-concentration toxic organic pollutants. Moreover, it is considered to be a perspective technology to resolve environmental pollution and control CO2 discharge. This chapter deals with green energy, photocatalysts, photosynthesis, green photocatalysis, and recent advances in green photocatalytic energy conversion.
