Boosting Resilience Through E-Leadership: Mediator Effect of Self-efficacy
摘要
E-leadership has become one of the most interesting modern leader-ship styles for researchers in the digital world. In this study, we predicted that employees exposed to e-leadership would have greater resilience and self-efficacy perceptions of individuals, will have a mediating effect on this possible relationship. In this context, psycho-logical resilience can be explained as the psychological resistance of individuals against events, their ability to stand firm against sudden shocks, difficulties and troubles, and their ability to recover quickly and self-efficacy is self-confidence of individuals in a specific work realm. In the study, a model was constructed to examine both direct and indirect relationships, and the analyses were conducted in the smart-PLS program. The field work for the research was designed to be conducted on white-collar personnel working in service sector in Istanbul, the most populous city and business center of Turkey. Results of the study revealed that e-leadership does not have a direct effect on resilience levels of individuals, but self-efficacy acts as a mediator in the relationship between e-leadership and resilience.
