Gender Exclusion in the Workplace in India—A Comprehensive Analysis

Gender exclusion in the workplace remains a persistent and pervasive issue, impacting career advancement, job satisfaction, and economic equality. Gender Equality and Women Empowerment is acknowledged as a crucial component of sustainable development. It is acknowledged that women's economic participation in the nation is essential to their empowerment. This paper explores the multifaceted issue of gender exclusion at workplace in India. Despite legal frameworks and policies aimed at promoting gender equality, gender exclusion remains a pervasive problem. It also examines the socio-cultural, economic, and organisational factors contributing to gender exclusion and the impact on women’s professional growth. The paper advocates for a comprehensive approach to addressing gender exclusion, emphasising the need for enhanced legal enforcement, transformative organisational changes, and societal shifts towards a more progressive gender norms.
