We study Gravitational Waves (GWs) in modified gravity theory. We choose metric gravity to explore the characteristics of GWs in the presence of an additional scalar field. We examine additional polarization modes (longitudinal and breathing modes) beyond standard “plus” and “cross” modes of polarization predicted by general theory of relativity. The study also focuses on the nature of scalar field using chameleon mechanism in different density regions.
