Test Beam Analysis for 5 mm Straw Tubes for DUNE ND-SAND at CERN
摘要
Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is a future long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment at Fermilab to measure neutrino oscillation parameters with high precision. System for on-Axis Neutrino Detection (SAND), one of the three Near Detectors (ND) for DUNE, will use an excellent low-density tracking detector to monitor the beam and achieve DUNE’s precision goals. This work describes the performance of the Straw Tube Tracker (STT), the baseline design for the tracker in SAND. An STT prototype with three different straw sizes has been built and tested using the particle beam at CERN. The resolution obtained in this analysis is for 5 mm straws, and it meets the precision requirements for neutrino interaction measurements in DUNE.
