A Non \(\mu -\tau \) Symmetric Texture for Neutrino Masses with a Non Zero Reactor Angle

A new Majorana neutrino mass matrix texture is considered admitting normal hierarchy of neutrino masses, which partially coincides with the Tribimaximal mixing. The texture has only three real free parameters, which can predict six observable parameters. It rules out any possibility of a vanishing reactor angle, \(\theta _{13}\) , nor is it reducible to a mu-tau symmetric texture. The texture in its precise form is generated in the framework of \(SU(2)_L \otimes T^\prime \otimes Z_2 \otimes Z_3\) through a Type I seesaw mechanism.
