Study of the Response of SLD to a Major Background of InDEx at JUSL
摘要
This work experimentally investigates the threshold of gamma-ray induced bubble nucleation of \(C_2H_2F_4\) Superheated Liquid Detector (SLD) used in the InDEx experiment at the JUSL. A series of measurements were conducted at varying temperatures, from \(28^\circ \) C to \(49^\circ \) C, for background and also for a gamma source ( \(^{137}Cs\) ). The results indicate a significant increase in count rate at approximately \(38.5^\circ \pm 1.4^\circ \) C, marking the temperature at which the detector becomes sensitive to gamma radiation. The preliminary result from InDEx run at JUSL at a 1.09 keV threshold above the gamma-ray threshold temperature and the projected sensitivity of InDEx are presented.
