Design and Optimization of Righting Hooks for Wreck Righting

In order to solve the problem of setting the hanging point (root point) of the wire rope during the process of righting sunken ship. The underwater non-welded rooting device (hook for righting) studied in this paper can be used to guide the operation of righting sunken ship in the process of salvage. This paper completed the modelling and structural analysis based on Abaqus. And this equipment has been used in the actual wreck salvage project. In order to improve the adaptation of this equipment to the sunken ship, the optimization design of the equipment is further studied in this paper. The results show that the optimized design of the hook for righting has stronger adaptability to the structure of the sunken ship. And it’s easier to install and use underwater. The results of calculation and analysis show that the hook for righting meets the design expectation and the design requirement. The research results can provide some reference for the operation of righting capsized ship in the salvage.
