Pangu weather model is the first of the “Top 10 Scientific Advances in China” in 2023 released by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In this paper, the model is tested and analyzed for typhoon prediction. The research results show that: firstly, Pangu weather model is suitable for typhoon prediction; secondly, the typhoon prediction error of the model is not higher than 1% after error analysis. With such a high accuracy, the Pangu weather model could be used to do a lot of things not confined to prediction. Due to its global and 3D transformation, it can be used for artificial modification of typhoons. we can add the artificial intervention of typhoon and introduce the PID (proportional-integral-differential) controller in engineering cybernetics; and thirdly, through the modeling of the typhoon, we can build a simulation platform for the artificial modification of typhoon based on engineering cybernetics.
