Modern slavery remains one of the most egregious human rights violations of the twenty-first century. Despite global efforts to combat it through international treaties, national laws, and human rights advocacy, millions of individuals continue to be subjected to forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, and other exploitative practices. These crimes not only dehumanise victims but also erode the foundations of justice, the rule of law, and social cohesion. As legal and institutional mechanisms increasingly criminalise such conduct, the effective prosecution of modern slavery offenders becomes central to both delivering justice to victims and dismantling exploitative systems.
