Residential buildings play a significant role in sustainable development and contribute to environmental impacts. As the global population increases, especially in urban areas, sustainable housing has become a major worldwide initiative. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a widely recognized method for evaluating the environmental impacts of products, processes, or systems. Inventory analysis is a critical component of LCA. This paper presents a detailed inventory analysis for three residential buildings constructed under Indian conditions, following a cradle-to-grave system boundary. It includes an in-depth inventory for raw materials, construction, operational use and maintenance, and end-of-life phases, with upstream transportation also accounted for. The paper concludes by addressing the complexities involved in conducting inventory analysis.
