This study investigates the pervasive issue of noise pollution in urban environments, focusing on its impact on physio-psychological health due to unregulated traffic and urban development. We aim to understand the multifaceted effects of noise pollution through a comprehensive analysis of sound level measurements across different urban zones and a detailed exploratory factor analysis (EFA) of survey responses. Results indicate that measured noise levels in industrial and commercial areas have exceeded World Health Organization (WHO) permissible limits, indicating significant auditory pollution across monitored urban spaces. The EFA of the perception survey, involving 173 participants, identified four latent factors related to noise pollution's impact: the prominent effects of noise pollution, awareness of noise pollution, traffic-related noise disturbance, and the need for awareness of noise pollution. These factors accounted for 59.13% of the total variance, highlighting critical areas for intervention. Notably, the factor related to the prominent effects of noise pollution, which includes symptoms such as headaches, stress, and sleep disturbances, underscores the direct health implications of noise exposure. This study contributes to the growing body of evidence on the adverse health effects of noise pollution. It highlights the importance of urban planning and policy interventions to mitigate this environmental hazard.
