Challenges and Opportunities in Recovering Platinum Group Metals and Rare Earth Elements from Copper Anode Slime for Industrial Integration: A Review
摘要
Rare earth elements (REEs) and platinum group metals (PGMs) are critical in the manufacturing of electronic materials, such as printed circuit boards, magnets, and sensors. However, their extensive use has led to depletion, environmental concerns, and technical challenges in recovery. Recycling from e-waste offers environmental advantages but faces obstacles, particularly in separating individual REEs and PGMs. This review explores industrially viable methods for recovering REEs and PGMs, from copper anode slime (CAS) based on reported lab-scale and globally adapted processes, and outlines best practices for efficient metal recovery, emphasizing the global shift towards sustainability and resource efficiency.
