摘要
Municipal cleaning services are integral to sustainable urban management, ensuring the systematic collection, transportation, and disposal of waste. These services play a vital role in reducing pollution, safeguarding public health, and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of urban environments. This research examines global municipal cleaning practices by analysing official documents and websites from ten countries, comprising six developed and four developing nations. The study identifies key requirements for effective street and public facility cleaning, providing a balanced perspective on challenges and best practices across diverse regions. Findings reveal that municipal cleaning services are indispensable for maintaining public spaces such as streets, parks, market areas, public restrooms, and transit hubs. Core activities include litter removal, street sweeping, waste collection, park maintenance, and sanitation of public facilities, all of which are critical for fostering liveable urban environments. The study provides actionable insights into enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability in urban cleaning services. This research contributes to the global dialogue on improving urban cleanliness and promoting healthier, more sustainable cities.
