摘要

Artificial intelligence (AI) holds transformative potential for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) by optimizing resource allocation, predicting water demand, and enhancing decision-making processes. This research examines AI’s capabilities in managing water distribution, forecasting droughts, and mitigating flood risks. Utilizing machine learning, neural networks, and big data analytics, AI can improve the efficiency and sustainability of water use. Predictive models provide early warnings for extreme weather events, enabling proactive measures. Furthermore, AI-driven data analysis supports policy development and operational decisions, ensuring balanced resource distribution. The benefits include increased resilience to climate change and enhanced resource management. However, data quality, system integration, and other significant aspects must also be addressed. This chapter highlights AI’s role in revolutionizing IWRM, offering a forward-looking perspective on achieving sustainable water management through advanced technology and theoretical frameworks. Addressing these aspects, AI can significantly contribute to more effective and sustainable water resource management.
