Economic Consequences of the COVID-19 Pandemic
摘要
The COVID-19 pandemic had a substantial impact on human lives as well as created seismic economic disruptions, affecting virtually every sector of the world economy. It has disrupted industries from travel and hospitality, creating job losses, and financial instability for millions across the globe. The level of volatility in financial markets has been unprecedented, with investors uncertain and anxious. Though stimulus packages and policies from governments have been put in place, these actions will be question marks when it comes to determining the length of these recoveries by factors like vaccine results and consumer measures. The path to a post-pandemic economy, one that is greener and more inclusive, depends on exercising resilience in innovative ways through coordinated global solidarity during this time of crisis. A coordinated effort and international cooperation can reduce the economic damage and build a more sustainable and inclusive post-pandemic economy. In light of this discussion, this research aims to describe the economic effects of the pandemic, summarizing the literature done in the related area.
