Building on an earlier work regarding employee green behavioremployee green behavior (EGB) (see Renwick et al., The limitations of individual analysis and alternative framing of employee green behavior, In: Green human resource management and sustainability: a view from the global south countries, Springer, 2024)), this chapter seeks to integrate the literature streams of EGB and business ethics. Findings from our exploratory review reveal that ethical issues surrounding EGBs center on issues of deontology and the extent to which such actions comply with basic moral rules and considerations like honesty, fairness, and justice. We advocate that all organizational stakeholders should consider the ethical issues involved in EGB to improve their operational legitimacy.
